北海道立近代美術館 / Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art

北海道立近代美術館では、北海道出身のアーティストの作品が展示されている「Born in HOKKAIDO」が開催中。彼らが生まれ育った「北海道」という土地の影響をどこかで受けているのが作品から感じられました。作品数は多くないものの、展示のされ方が良かったです。

HOKKAIDO MUSEUM OF MODERN ART had "Born in HOKKAIDO" exhibition. It was about artists from Hokkaido and I could see the influence of Hokkaido in their work. There weren't many pieces but they were well displayed.

モエレ沼公園 / Moerenuma Park

イサム・ノグチによって設計されたモエレ沼公園。受付で長靴を借りることができたので、雪の中の散歩をズボズボと楽しみました。年末ということもあり、誰もいない公園をひとり占め。雪に覆われた公園には、また違った魅力があります。
ガラスのピラミッドの中のギャラリーでは、この公園の設計プランを見ることができます。公園内にはノグチによるデザインのカラフルな遊具があり、雪の中によく映えていました。
夏にはビーチで水遊びやサイクリングを、冬には丘でスキーや雪遊びを、と季節によって色々楽しめるのも素敵。2005年にオープンしたばかりで、これから育っていくのが楽しみな公園です。

Moerenuma Park was created by Isamu Noguchi. I hired snow boots from the reception and walked around the park which was completely covered by snow.
A gallery in the Glass Pyramid was showing some drawings by Noguchi for this park and his other work. There were some colourful play equipment designed by Noguchi in the park, which looked nice under the snow.
This park only opened in 2005 so it will change over time.

札幌ドーム / Sapporo Dome

札幌ドームは、京都駅を手がけた原広司さんによるデザインです。ポテンとした外観とは違い、中はシャープな感じで実にカッコいい。サッカー、野球、コンサート、イベントなどなど、色んな形で使用されているようです。
すごいのが、サッカーと野球のグラウンドの入れ替えが可能だというところ。見ただけでは信じられませんが、どうやって床を動かすかの解説図がありました。展望台からはグラウンドの様子と札幌の街が一望できて素敵です。

Sapporo Dome is designed by Hiroshi Hara who also did Kyoto Station. It looks kind of cute from outside but it is very cool inside. The dome is used for football matches, baseball games and concerts.
Amazing thing was that they can automatically swap the baseball ground for the football ground. They showed how to do it in pictures. From the viewing platform, I could see both the grounds and the city. It was nice.

旭山動物園 / Asahiyama Zoo

日本最北の動物園・旭山動物園へ行ってきました。最北、というだけあり気温は−10℃ほど。「しばれる(激寒い)」という感覚を久しぶりに味わいました。
仲良く散歩するペンギンや、冷たいプールの中を泳ぎまくるシロクマ、雪と一緒だと見えなくなるくらい真っ白なフクロウなどなど、寒さに強い動物にとっては天国みたいな場所です。でもライオンやヒョウは、人形みたいにじーっと動かずに日なたぼっこをしていました。
この寒さでは歩き回るのは2時間半が限界！今度は夏にゆっくり来たいです。

I went to the most northerly zoo in Japan, Asahiyama Zoo in Hokkaido. The temperature was -10c, I haven't felt so "cold" for a long time.
Penguins were taking a walk and a polar bear was swimming madly in the icy water. It's hard to believe but some animals love the cold winter. But the lions and leopards were staying still under the sun. They looked like dolls.
I lasted only two and half hours walking around so would love to come back in the summer.

ポップ道 1960s-2000s @MOT

東京都現代美術館で開催中の「ポップ道 1960s-2000s」。ウォーホールやリキテンスタインの他に、森村泰昌をはじめとする日本のアーティストの作品がたくさん展示されていました。
「ポップ道」というタイトルはしっくりこないけど、常設展なので何回か見たことのある作品が、展示の場所やテーマを変えると違った風に見えるので良いですね。

I visited Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo to see the general exhibition. I was glad to find Yasumasa Morimura's piece. A lot of Japanese artists' work were shown as well as Warhol and Lichtenstein.
I'm not sure about this exhibition's title "THE POP" , but it was nice to see the general collection under different theme so that we can see them in different way.

water @21_21 DESIGN SIGHT

21_21 DESIGN SIGHTで開催中のwater展。水をテーマにしたアイデアが沢山あって面白かったです。超撥水性のある紙皿を自分で動かして遊べるので、ただ見てるのとは違い、作品達を身近に感じられます。
入口の側には逆さにした傘が展示してあって、自分で写真を撮って送ると、このHPにアップされます！「水とは・・・」というメッセージを携帯電話から送ると数分後にそれが流れる、という作品もあり、「展示」に参加するという新しいスタイルで面白い！
それにしても、今日の六本木はすごい人！特に夕方は、駅からヒルズ方面へ向かう人が行列のようになっていました。

”Water" exhibition is on at 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT. There are a lot of interesting designs and ideas. Specially the well water proofed paper plate was amazing. You can drip a water and play with it.
There were some umbrellas hanging upside-down by the reception and if you take a photo with you and send it, it will appear on this site. I think it's great that the visitors can participate the exhibition.
Today, Roppongi was so busy! Especially from the evening, people were almost queuing from the station to Roppongi Hills.

高尾山 / Mt.Takao

こんな晴れた日には高尾山へ！去年に続き2度目の今日は「高尾山・陣馬山コース」を選択しました。すごい傾斜のケーブルカーで途中まで登り、約5時間半にわたる山登りを楽しみました。山頂では、富士山をくっきりと見ることができ、感動！高尾山の山頂は「関東の富士見100景」にも選ばれているそうです。
新宿から京王線で45分くらいで意外と都心から近いこともあり、たくさんの人が登山を楽しんでいました。大準備をせずに、ふと思い立った時に行ける手軽さが良いです。山の自然を満喫した日曜日でした。

It was sunny Sunday so I decided to climb Mt. Takao. It was my second time there so I took the route from Mt.Takao to Mt.Jinba, which took us five&half hours. On top of the mountains, I could see Mt.Fuji clearly. It was beautiful.
It took only 45mins from Shinjuku by Keio line so there are a lot of weekend climbers. Without a lot of preparation, we can enjoy climbing mountain and the nature in Tokyo. Nice.
