武家屋敷 / Samurai House

加賀百万石の前田家に仕える侍達の武家屋敷。中でも野村家跡は、その庭がとあるガーデニングの雑誌で「日本で3番目に美しい庭園」に選ばれたほど。段差のある池が印象的なお庭で、とても美しい。狩野派の有名な画家が描いた見事な襖の絵や、2階の茶室など、趣きのあるお屋敷です。
今回の旅で、私、金沢が大好きになりました！

I visited one of the samurai house, the family of Nomura. Its garden was chosen as the third best garden in Japan by an English gardening magazine. It is a small but impressive garden with ponds with different hights. In the building, fusuma, sliding thick paper door drawn by famous artist from Kano school was amazing. There is a tea house upstairs where they offer maccha tea.
I really love Kanazawa!!!

忍者寺 / Ninja-dera Temple

「忍者寺」という名前に惹かれて訪れた妙立寺。見学するのに予約が必要で、でも当日でも受け付けてもらえました。約40分程のガイド付きのミニツアーで、まるで迷路のような建物をくまなく見ることができます。一見普通の2階建ての建物が、実は7層4 階からなり、23の部屋と29の階段そして2つの落とし穴が仕組まれています！ここは本当にオススメ！

Myoryu-ji temple is known as Ninja-dera and I was attracted by its name so decided to visit there. I needed to book the tour to go in, but they accepted me booking on the day. The tour with a guide last for 40mins (it is only in Japanese but there were English leaflet which explain everything they says). It looks like a normal two storys building from outside but there are 23 rooms, 29 stairs, and 2 hidden pits in the floor. This is the place to go if you like ninja kind thing.

金沢21世紀美術館 / 21st Century Museum

金沢に来た一番の目的金沢21世紀美術館は建築家ユニットSANAAによるデザイン。今はちょうど、日比野克彦さんのプロジェクトで壁一面が朝顔でおおわれていました。
「金沢の包み紙展」や「パッション・コンプレックス」等が開催中で、どれも素晴らしかったです。直島に行って以来大好きになったジェームズ・タレルによる「タレルの部屋」や、レアンドロ・エルリッヒによる「スイミング・プール」には、ただただ感動でした。

21st Century Museum is the reason I came to Kanazawa. It is designed by an architect duo SANAA. The building wall was covered by Asagao, morning glory at the moment.
All the exhibition such as "Kanazawa's wrapping paper collection" and "Passion Complex" were great. My favourite were "Turrell's room" byJames Turrell and "swimming pool" by Leandro Erlich, which were permanent collection. I loved everything about this museum!

兼六園 / Kenroku-en

兼六園は日本の三大名園の一つに数えられる庭園。繊細な庭園を想像していたのですが、どんと構えた感じが私はとても気に入りました。庭のどこを見ても苔がすごくきれい！金沢の街を一望できるのも素敵です。夏の終わりの蝉の鳴き声を聞きながら、ボーっと夕暮れ時を楽しむのも、たまには必要だなぁと思いました。

Kenroku-en is one of the three most beautiful garden in Japan. I thought this was going to be tacky but it was really authentic. The ground was coverd by moss, which was so beautiful. I could also see the view of Kanazawa. It was nice to sit in the garden listening to the sound of cicadas. I could feel the summer is just about to end.

ひがし茶屋 / Higashichaya

金沢へ行ってきました。東京から飛行機で50分と、空だと意外と近い！金沢21世紀美術館やおしゃれセレクトショップなど、とてもセンスの良い街で、人もみんな親切です。
ひがし茶屋には古い町並みが残されていて、まるで時間が止まったみたい。甘味処やお土産物屋さんなど、プラプラと散策するのにちょうど良いです。道で寝ていた猫は人が来ても知らん顔で寝続けていて、「金沢では猫もリラックスしてるんだなぁ」と思いました。

I went to Kanazawa, Ishikawa pref. for two days. It takes only 50mins by plane from Tokyo-it is surprisingly close! The city has good taste, 21st Century Museum and shops with good selection of clothes etc. And the people are so friendly and kind. I loved everything about this city! Higashichaya is an old town famous for tea houses. There are Japanese cafes and nice interior shops so it is ideal area to walk around. I found a cat sleeping in the street who wasn't bothered by tourists. Everything is so relaxed.
