Get ready for Christmas!

今日は我が家のクリスマスツリーを出しました。クリスマスまであと6週間くらい。特別に何かするわけではないけど、この季節になると自動的にワクワクします。

Design Tide

Design Tideは国立競技場の体育館で開催されたデザインの展示会。展示会というよりは小さな美術館にいるような気分になりました。クリエイティブな作品がたくさんあって、中に併設されているショップで購入できるものも。
ワークショップやアフターパーティーも色々あって、誰でも参加できるのも素敵です。私はノルウェー大使館が主催するパーティーに行ったけど、ノルウェーのデザイナーさん達が、作品を展示したり、スクリーンを使ってプレゼンテーションをしたりしていて面白かったです。

Design Tide exhibition was like a museum of interior design. There were many creative showpieces and there was a shop where you can buy some of the products.
Some workshop and after party were organized so I decided to join Norwegian Party. Designers from Norway displayed some of their work and did presentation on the screen. It was very interesting night.

100% design TOKYO

明治神宮外苑で開催された100% design TOKYOへ行ってきました。インテリアデザインの巨大展示会、という感じで、世界中のインテリアデザイナーから日本各地の大学生の作品まで、膨大な数のプロダクトが展示されていていました。入場者もとても多くて、デザインへの関心が高さが表れているなぁと思いました。
会場で行われたパネルディスカッションの中で、「環境を意識してデザインするのは当たり前。これからはものの耐久性を考えてデザインすることが大切。」と、ある建築家の方が言っていたのが印象的でした。本当にその通りです。

100% design TOKYO, a contemporary interiors event is on at Aoyama. Thousands of interior products were shown so I enjoyed finding a lot of interesting ideas and designs from all over the world.
Panel discussion about environment was held at the venue. One architect said that it's normal to design eco friendly product now, so we should go to next step, designing products which have more durability. I absolutely agree with it.

Welcome To Magazine Pool

ギンザ・グラフィック・ギャラリーで今日から開催の「Welcome To Magazine Pool」のオープニングへ行ってきました。エキシビジョンは藤本やすしさん(写真下)がプロデュース。雑誌って、記事を読むだけじゃなくて、写真やデザインをながめたり、何も考えずにパラパラめくったり、色んな楽しみ方があると思います。
円く並んだ10個の机の上には雑誌が置かれていて、10人のアーティストによる作品がそれぞれ違うページにあり、全てつなげると1冊の雑誌として完成します(おそらく購入可)。地下では、色んな時代の色んな国の雑誌がプールの中に並べられていて、手に取って見ることができます。レアなものが沢山ありました！

Welcome To Magazine Pool exhibition is on at Graphic Gallery in Ginza. It is directed by Yasushi Fujimoto (pictured right), a famous magazine designer. They had an opening party tonight.
10 magazines which have pages created by 10 designers are displayed on the desks. In the basement, there is a small pool filled with all sorts of magazines such as FACE, iD,VOGUE etc. You can find rare ones and read them by poolside.
