今日のベルリン散策はミース・ファン・デル・ローエによるニューナショナルギャラリーから。地上階ではドイツ出身の写真家トーマス・デマンド、地下ではシュルレアリスムから抽象表現主義までの流れにそった展示でした。作品の豊富さがすごかった。私の理想の美術館。I started my day with Neue Nationalgalerie by Mies van der Rohe. On the ground floor, there was an exhibition by photographer Thomas Demand, and the exhibition downstairs was featured a huge collection from Surrealism to Abstract Expressionism. I think this is my ideal museum - great architect, exhibition space and amazing collection!

ちょうど川俣正の展覧会をやっていて、木の小屋が周りの公園に設置されているのを発見。
Haus der Kulture der Welt
Tadashi Kawamata exhibition was on and I found his Tree Huts around the museum.

ハンブルガー・バーンホフ美術館
これまた特大の現代美術館。フロントから見ると分からないけれど、数百メートルほどの長いスペースが延々と奥に伸びています。もと駅だった建物を改装していて、その名残が感じられるのも素敵。
美術館の中の作品は基本的に写真撮影OKというのも、まあびっくり。
入ってすぐの巨大スペースにデュシャンの車輪があるのが粋ですね。
Hamburger Bahnhof Museum
This is a huge museum. It doesn't look so big from outside but at the back it has a few hundred meter long annexed building. The building used to be a station, which has unique feeling.
I loved the way Duchamp's Bicycle Wheel installed in the huge hall.

すごく良いシステムだと思ったのが、ベルリンの電車。改札口がないのです。

There is no ticket gate in any Berlin station. It is a great system.
