OPEN SPACE @ICC

ICC オープン・スペース2008へ。アート＆テクノロジーゾーンでは色んな作品を実際に体験できます。入場無料というのもうれしいポイント。
今回は時間があまりなかったけれど、佐藤雅彦＋桐山孝司による《計算の庭》(写真左)はチェックできました。数字の書かれたカードを持って入り、「×3」「＋5」とかいうゲートをくぐって計算しながら「73」になればゴール！というもの。数字がオーバーしても「−」や「÷」があるので大丈夫。少しほろ酔いだった私は3分ちょっとかかってしまったけど、すごく面白かったです。

"OPEN SPACE 2008" exhibition is held at the ICC. In the Art & Technology Zone exhibition area, visitors can play with works that blend technology and art.
My favorite is "Keisan no Niwa" (The Garden of Calculation)--pictured above left. Visitors are given a card with a number written on it and by passing through gates marked "x3" or "+5" aim to finish with a total of "73". I was little drunk when I tried it so it took me about 3 mins. It was great fun!

CONTROL

アントン・コービン監督による「コントロール」。ジョイ・ディヴィジョンのボーカル、イアン・カーティスの半生を描いています。フォトグラファーの監督ならではの感覚で、絵になるシーンがたくさんありました。
70年後半のイギリスのファッションや、70年代のイギリスの様子など楽しめました。音楽に興味がある人にとってはたまらない作品なのでは。

CONTROL is directed by Anton Corbijn, a photographer of U2, David Bowie and Björk. The film is about Ian Curtis, lead singer of Joy Division. A lot of scenes had great cinematography.
I am not into music very but really enjoyed the fashion and 70s England. A lot of people recommended this film to me and I can understand why.

都庁 / Tokyo Metropolitan Government Bldg

東京観光で都庁の展望台へ。無料で45Fの展望台に上れるため、入口にはツアーの観光客をはじめかなりの人が並んでいました。23:00まで開いているのも良いです。東京タワー方面に面したバーもあり、夜景をたっぷり堪能できます。
都庁は丹下健三による設計で、1990年に完成したとは思えないほど新しい。ただ高層なだけではなく、なんというか迫力があります。無料で誰でも楽しめる、っていうところが良いなと思いました。

Tokyo Metropolitan Government Bldg has two observatories on the 45th floor and one of them is open till 23:00. It is free to go up there so many people were queuing at the entrance. There is a bar facing towards Tokyo Tower so we can enjoy the view with a glass of wine.
Tokyo Metropolitan Government Bldg was designed by Kenzo Tange. I couldn't believe this building was built in 1990, it looks very new and is very impressive. It is good idea that everybody can enjoy the building and the view without charge.

101TOKYO Contemporary Art Fair

4/3〜6に開催されているコンテンポラリーアートフェア101TOKYOへ。もともと中学校だった場所が会場になっていて、よく見ると階段に「101」と描かれています。国内・外の色んなギャラリーがスペースを持って作品を展示していました。
最近東京でもアートに関するイベントがたくさん開催されています。興味を持った作品は何点かありましたが、アートが溢れかえっているこの時代でも、(私の)心を動かすものはそんなに簡単に見つかるものではないと思いました。だからこそ、こういう場を訪れる楽しみがあるのかも。

I went to the 101TOKYO Contemporary Art Fair which was held from April 3rd to 6th. The place used to be a junior high school and 101 was drew on the stairs. Many galleries from all over the world were participating the event.
There are so many arts in the world, especially in Japan art is really in at the moment. But there are only very few things make a real impression on me. Maybe that's why I like exploring art galleries and museums.

清澄白河 / kiyosumi Shirakawa

各ギャラリーのオープニングレセプションへ。何だか今日はすごい人だなと思ったら、「アートフェア東京」が開催されているからのようで。国際的なパーティーになっていました。
今回私の心にささる展示は残念ながらなかったけれど、こういう場にいるというのは良い刺激になります。奇抜なファッションの人や、エキセントリックな人、(自分を含め)酔っぱらっている人など、人を観察するのも面白いですね。

I went to the opening reception of galleries in Kiyosumi Shirakawa. There were more people than usual because of Tokyo Art Fair. And the crowds were quite international for Tokyo.
Unfortunately none of the exhibition inspired me this time but it was fascinating to watch fashionable people, eccentric people and drunken people. It was a good night.

My Blueberry Nights

去年からかなり楽しみにしていたウォン・カーウァイ監督のマイ・ブルーベリー・ナイツ。「花様年華」「2046」と濃厚な作品が続きましたが、今回はとてもスウィートな作品です。
ウォン・カーウァイ監督ならではのカメラワークや映像美はもちろんですけど、何よりこのキスシーンが全てを表している、そんな素敵な映画です。

I was so looking forward to watching My Blueberry Nights by
Wong Kar Wai. His last two films, "in the mood for love" and "2046" were very deep and rich, but this film is really sweet.
Wong Kar Wai's siginificant camerawork and the way he uses lights, red, trains and music were all beautiful. Above all this kiss explain all about the film.

清澄庭園 / Kiyosumi Gardens

今日は強風の中、清澄庭園へ散歩に。
色んな種類のカモや、日光浴をするカメがいてのどかな雰囲気。磯渡りといって、池の端の石の上を歩けるのが楽しかったです。大量のオタマジャクシや満開の桜に春を感じました。
公園はちょうど良い大きさで、人もそんなに多くなく、居心地が良いので、今度はゆっくりと読書をしに来たいです。

I went for a walk in Kiyosumi Gardens today.
There are pretty looking ducks and turtles sunbathing. I found millions of tadpole swimming in the pond. And it was nice to see beautiful cherry blossoms.
The garden is good size, cozy and not too busy. It must be nice to sit there and read a book.
